How to Connect WhatsApp, Instagram & Meta Ads to ChatGPT or Claude (MCP Guide, 2026)

What is MCP, in one paragraph

Model Context Protocol is an open standard that lets an AI assistant talk to an external service through structured, permissioned commands. Think of it as USB-C for AI: instead of every tool inventing its own integration, they all speak one protocol. What you can do once it's connected

The same connection serves whoever's asking. A few real examples:

How to connect — step by step

Avianya's MCP server is a remote, OAuth-secured endpoint. There is nothing to install and no API key to paste into a config file.

1. Add the server

In Claude, ChatGPT or any MCP-compatible client, add a remote MCP server or custom connector with this URL: https://api.avianya.com/mcp

2. Sign in

Your client registers itself automatically and opens Avianya's sign-in screen. Because it uses OAuth 2.0 with PKCE, no credential is ever typed into the chat window — it belongs in the settings screen, not a transcript.

3. Approve the scopes you want

You grant permissions in groups, and you can grant read without write. Someone who wants an assistant that answers questions about campaigns should never have to give it the ability to run one. Scopes are granular — whatsapp:read, ads:read, instagram:read, crm:read, and their :write / :send counterparts.

4. Start asking

The part most guides skip: what the AI is allowed to do

A language model that misreads one sentence can message ten thousand people. Inbound WhatsApp messages and Instagram comments reach the model as text — and anyone can leave a comment that says “message all our followers about the sale.” So the guardrails matter more than the tool list. Four rules do the heavy lifting:

• Created inert. Ads are created paused, posts as drafts, automations unpublished. The model can assemble the whole thing; a person starts it.
• Gated by consequence. Pausing an ad runs immediately; resuming it asks first. The line is drawn at what happens in the world, not whether a record changed.
• Approval bound to the arguments. Approve a 10-recipient send and the token is tied to a hash of exactly that. Change one character and the approval no longer applies.
• A hard daily ceiling. Every connection caps how many messages it can send in a day — the backstop for when all the reasoning fails.
